Exercise, moving and using your body makes your life come alive. In my opinion, its not about having the biggest biceps, but its about getting fitness and health into your life that increases your enjoyment of all the other areas of your life. It truly does. Let's just clear up what fitness is not about.
It is not about the person who can do the most reps, the fastest, the strongest or the best looking athlete. Its not the t-shirt that you wear or the one who makes the most noise.
The external is one thing, but fitness makes a real difference to your life when you being it inside and make it a part of you. Our society is too consumed by the story of the champion who kicks the winning goal, the vision of the marathon runner gritting down and outpacing her opponent to criss the line in first place. The take away message is that you just have to try a little harder. Just push a little more. Just do it .
Don't get me wrong, winning is important. Competition is useful, but it is such a small part of fitness and emphasises to the point where the other relationship with fitness gets overlooked in favour of some kind of crazed stupor.
